One of the most popular and powerful features of Drupal is its taxononomy system, which allows you to classify content in a flexible way. Information Architects are folks who develop taxonomies as part of their professional work. It turns out that the European Information Architects community hold their annual conference, EuroIA, from September 21-22, 2007, in Barcelona. Side-by-side from DrupalCon, so to speak. This is a great opportunity for synergy - for Drupalists and practicioners of Information Architecture to share experiences and insights and inspire each other. This year's theme of the IA Summit is "Translating Information Architecture".
Localization (l10n) and internationalization (i18n) is a big topic in the Drupal community too, see Dries Buytaert's comment "Reaching Out with Drupal 6". So, looks like the two conferences have considerable mindshare and potential for cross-pollination. People attending the upcoming DrupalCon might want to head over to the EuroIA conference site and check out the interesting Summit programme.
